A kitchen is the centrepiece of a home. A place to socialise, create and enjoy great food with friends and family and Muir can bring the expertise of furniture design and cabinet making to create a bespoke kitchens design that fits at the very heart of your home.

Influenced by modern mid-century architects and designers such as Alvar Aalto and George Nelson, Muir kitchens are minimalist, but always have the warmth of wood that setting them apart from the cold efficiency of a high-end German manufacturer.

The process

The process starts with a free consultation to discuss your project, progressing to an initial outline design (for a small fee) in order to bring your kitchen to life and understand the scope of the project. Material samples would also be provided along to help better understand the final look and feel.

Survey

After initial designs, an accurate survey of the space is carried out along with consultation with your architect or interior designer (if involved with your project) and a full design and project plan prepared.

Manufacture

Manufacture of your kitchen in our Edinburgh based workshop typically takes around anything from 4-16 weeks and in the meantime other trades can be organised to prepare the space for utilities and decoration. Installation takes around one to two weeks depending on the size of the project.

New build properties or renovations

If you are having a new property built from scratch or renovating an existing property with an architect and builder, the kitchen should be a high priority, so be sure to get in touch early in the process of your build to ensure as smooth a process as possible,
